Weekend camping trip - Donnells Pond, Maine

Little photodump from my crazy awesome weekend up the coast. I didn't see a car for 2 days, and for some reason, that is a good thing. There is a car at the end though OPPO might like! I do love my state, it is so relaxing when you let it be.

Nuts accident on the way up. Car went about 50 yards into the median. Added another hour on the trip up due to traffic

lots of kiddos on board for the trip. Mine were at home with mom.

Public and free camping. Our friends went up Thursday to stake this spot out

Saturday on the boat, just a little sad I didn't have my fishing gear

Cadillac Mountain

Put a new roof on some friends bait shack at their camp

took a nice 2 hour hike with my lady friend

with beer, of course

old fridge WAY out in the woods

one handed hiking

some goddamn fried chicken

dog wants chicken

steak tips also, homemade sausages

late night bonfire

packing up on sunday

burning anything we didnt want to bring back

breakfast before we leave

breakfast of champions

all cleaned up and ready to head out

headed out from camp road

to my girls parents camp on another lake. Rode around in a nice pontoon boat for hours

I freaking want this 2 story slide

to a neighboring camp for a pot luck

Maine style, cooking some damn lobstahs

rolled around in the side by side

and on the way back...I saw a thing. Not 4wd though. Oppo consolation prize for checking my post out

How big of an OB was it? I'm not big on outboards but... at least it says Mercury on it!

I've always liked I/O boats because at least on the inside of the hull I know how the engine is supposed to work haha.

I think this was a 90 on a 16 ft Lund beater. Actually not a bad motor but the coil packs on these get weak after a while. Next time I am up at my '63 Chris Craft 28' I will show you the beauty that is twin marinized GM 283 I/O

I have the cabin gutted currently. Best name ever though. the "Blue Hawaii"

Motors are done, hull frames and planking are rebuilt. One day...

This is the first summer in four years we haven't made it up to the Maine coast (baby girl arriving any freakin' day now). Loved seeing the pics, but it made the ol' heart ache a bit too. It's been hot in OK.

Thanks! And yeah, come hell or high water we'll be back next year. I have family scattered from Spencer MA all the way to North Berwick, and access to the family beach house in Wells, so it's always worth the effort!
